All the buzz around Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmavati has left fans eagerly waiting for the film starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. The actors of the movie have shared their character posters and their unconventional looks for the movie has left an impact on the moviegoers already. Be it the grandeur of Deepika’s character of Rani Padmavati, the royal and the warrior look of Shahid as King of Chittor Maharawal Ratan Singh or recently released Ranveer Singh’s fierce and evil look as Allaudin Khilji, all of these has got everybody talking about the period drama.

Now with the lead cast’s character posters out, veteran actor Raza Murad who plays Jalaluddin Khilji has come out with his look in the movie too. But wait before you read ahead. Here is a spoiler alert. Sharing the look on his Facebook page, Raza Murad described his character and revealed a bit about the screenplay of Padmavati as he wrote, “This is my look in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s ‘Padmavati‘. I am playing Jalaluddin Khilji who was the first ruler of Khilji dynasty in India. He ruled India (1290-1296) for six years and was killed by his paternal nephew and son in law, Alauddin Khilji, who took over the throne after killing his uncle and father in law. Ranveer Singh has played Allaudin Khilji.

‘Padmavati’ is obviously Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor is Rawal Ratan Singh, Ruler of Chittor, Deepika’s husband. The film would be released on 1st December, all over the world.” However, the actor later deleted his post for reasons unknown.

After looking at all the posters released so far, we must say all the actors went the extra length to do justice to their roles. Even Ranveer Singh isolated himself and cut himself off from all social interactions. Apart from moving into an apartment close to Mumbai’s Filmcity, he only interacted with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, his assistant, personal trainer and key members of the crew. He even read books on tyrants to understand the psyche of his character.

Talking about it Ranveer said, “I put myself under house arrest for almost a month preparing myself to play Sultan Alauddin Khilji. I don’t wish to reveal the exact details of my prep process as it is something that is extremely personal. What I can say however is that the entire prep process has been one discovery, exploration and has been extremely rewarding and gratifying.”
