The University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) 2017 examination was conducted successfully by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on November 5 for approximately 9.30 lakh registered candidates.
The exam was conducted in 91 cities at 1700 exam centres across the nation.
Paper analysis:
In a conversation, students who have come to appear for the UGC NET 2017 examination at Modern Public School, Karkardooma (New Delhi) said that the overall difficulty of the paper was moderate.
Part III most difficult:
“While Paper I and Paper II were moderate, Paper III was difficult but nothing came out of the syllabus,” said Rajesh Sinha, a CBSE UGC NET 2017 aspirant.
“However, students from the mass communication background found Paper III to be the easiest one,” one of the students said.
Problem with time limit
Meanwhile, this year, many students complained about the time allotted to each section of the paper. “For the first paper we had very less time in comparison to other sections.”
As per the official press release, the UGC NET examination was conducted under the supervision of the Chairperson, Anita Karwal, Secretary, Anurag Tripathi and other senior officers of CBSE. Further, the Board had also deployed 2,091 observers and scores of invigilators.
Paper pattern:
The candidates appeared in three papers, paper-I of General Awareness was common for all and paper-II and III were conducted out of 84 subjects selected by the candidates.
Extra time to differently-abled candidates
This year, 25 minutes additional time was provided to differently-abled candidates for Paper I and Paper II while 50 minutes additional time was provided during paper III to such candidates.

Furthermore, as speculated, the results of the CBSE UGC NET 2017 will be declared in January, 2018.
