The Indira Gandhi National Open University signed a MoU with Common Service Centers which will act as a point of contact for all the digital services and support. The main aim of the initiative is to reach out to the students in far and disadvantageous areas and to provide the urban students with a digital support desk.
The partnership will create a platform for both prospective and enrolled students for the online courses, examinations and other online services
Study material will also be converted into digital format so that students can access them at any of the CSCs.
IGNOU will also organize the workshops for the village level entrepreneurs (VLEs) so that they understand all about the digital support and services which students can use to their benefits.
The workshops will be conducted by IGNOU in Lucknow, Patna, Jammu, Ahmedabad, Raipur and Guwahati in September.
The university also signed MoU with the ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) in order to promote awareness and communication under the Digital India Program.
