JNU University has allowed professor, Rajeev Kumar to resume its duties in the Computer Science department.

Rajeev Kumar is a former professor from IIT-KGP and is also a whistleblower.

An official order by JNU said that he will: ”resume his duties in School of Computer and Systems Sciences immediately”.
In 2014, IIT-KGP decided compulsory retirement for the professor Rajeev Kumar but the order were quashed by the president Pranab Mukherjee after Kumar approached Delhi High Court alleging bias against him.

Kumar was lauded as an unsung hero by the Supreme Court in 2011 for his contribution in reforming the JEE exam and for introducing the JEE Advanced exam.

During the same year, Kumar was accused by the probe panel of IIT-KGP of “damaging the reputation of the institute” as he alleged that students copied during the exam and laptops were purchased irregularly by the institute.

The institute in 2014 decided to enforce compulsory retirement against which Kumar appealed in the Delhi High Court and approached the President as well.
