For the students appearing in the class 10 and class 12 exams, Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has made the possession of Aadhaar card necessary. These students are required to reach the exam center along with their Aadhaar cards. The UP board high school and intermediate exams will begin from February 6 onwards.
According to the Neena Srivastava, the idea is to establish the real identity of students. “With the Aadhaar number, we will be able to curb fraudulent registrations and many other malpractices,” said she.
In case students fail to carry the Aadhaar cards, the exam authority will not allow them to sit in the exams.
A total of 37,12,508 students are expected to appear for the class 10 exams and about 30,17,032 for the class 12 exams. The numbers of candidates have increased from the last year.
Possession of Aadhaar card is compulsory for the registration of various competitive exams such as JEE, NEET etc.
