The police on Friday arrested a school bus conductor for the murder of a seven-year-old boy at Ryan International School at Bhondsi in Gurgaon.
The accused, Ashok, 40, had attempted to sexually assault the boy, police said. Ashok killed the boy when he raised an alarm, they added.
“Accused had been working here for past 6-8 months. He had gone to use toilet where he saw the boy. He had the knife with him in his pocket,” DCP, Gurgaon, said.
The police had earlier on Friday detained 10 people, including the driver and conductor of a school bus and a staff member, in connection with the killing of a seven-year-old boy, who was found inside the washroom of a school with his throat slit open, on Friday.
Pradyuman Thakur, a student of Class 2 in Ryan International School of Bhondsi campus, was found in a pool of blood inside the toilet of the school. He was bleeding profusely.
He was immediately rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. A knife has been recovered from the scene of the crime, said a police official.
