After Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made an appearance at BJP’s Janaraksha Yatra in Kerala on October 4, he will once again be leaving his state to campaign for the BJP, this time in poll-bound Gujarat.
The BJP “star campaigner” Yogi Adityanath will be campaigning in Gujarat on Friday and Saturday as BJP boosts its presence in the state after Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s extended Roadshow in Gujarat.
“Yogi Adityanath will visit Gujarat several times to the run up to the election. He will be one of our star campaigners in the elections,” a BJP senior leader said.
During Yogi’s two-day visit to the state, he will be addressing gatherings in south Gujarat’s Valsad, Surat, and Kutch on Friday and Saturday as a part of the BJP’s Gujarat Gaurav Yatra before returning to Lucknow on Sunday.
Apart from Yogi, other top BJP leaders will also reportedly be brought in to participate in the Yatra, being held from October 1-15. The Yatra will culminate in a grand ‘mahasammelan’ on October 16 in the outskirts of Ahmedabad which will witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national chief Amit Shah.
Rahul Gandhi had launched an aggressive campaign in Gujarat, which took place in two phases and witnessed Gandhi visiting several areas of the state as well as various villages. While reaching out to the public, Gandhi slammed the NDA government in the centre and the BJP government in the state.
Although the dates of the Gujarat state elections have not been announced, the polls will take place before December 18.
As the date approaches, political parties are making it their mission to secure the votes of Gujarat.
