GRP Bhopal TI@ Hemant Shrivastava said an alert was sounded at both the stations after receiving information from Dial 100 control room at 12.21 pm.

On receiving the information, the railway station was thoroughly searched. Bomb diffusion and disposal squad, sniffer dogs were pressed into service, but nothing was found, he said. Later, GRP personnel summed up it was hoax call and registered a case.

Sources said prankster called up helpline numbers around 12 noon, claiming a bomb was planted at Bhopal station and two persons were on the way to plant a bomb at Hoshangabad station. When the person at the helpline demanded to know his name, he refused to disclose his identity and disconnected the phone.
