Actress Deepika Padukone delighted everyone this morning by sharing the first look of her character Rani Padmini in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited film Padmavati.
The 32-year-old actress shared two posters from her forthcoming movie in which she is seen wearing ethnic attire, accessorised with heavy jewellery. Deepika sports an intense look in the posters and her unibrow is the most striking feature that adds to her authoritative look.
“Devi sthapana ke shubh avsar pe miliye Rani Padmavati se,” wrote Deepika Padukone. Padmavati also stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, both of whom have shared the posters on their respective social media accounts. “Malika-e- Chittor, Padmavati,” wrote Ranveer.

In the film, Shahid Kapoor will be seen portraying the role of Rani Padmavati’s husband Raja Ratan Singh while Ranveer Singh will feature as historic ruler Alauddin Khilji.
On Wednesday, the makers of the film teased the fans with the logo poster of the film, which was captioned as, “Rani Padmavati padhaar ragi hai. Kal suryoday se pehle.”
Padmavati marks Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s third collaboration with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani.
Padmavati also features Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari in pivotal roles.
Major portions of Padmavati have been shot but a few action sequences are still left. “A lot of the shoot is still left. The major chunk may have been shot, but some big action sequences are still left. Ranveer’s portions as the young Alauddin Khilji, too, remain to be shot,”a source said.
Padmavati is scheduled to release in theatres on December 1.
