This is the era where the use of solar energy is being promoted o high scale at everywhere in the world and recently, the government run Navodaya Vidyalayas were also instructed to adopt solar energy in the schools.
The directive to adopt the solar energy in Navodaya Vidyalayas was given by the Prakash Javadekar while he was addressing the 35th meeting of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
Minister said that the rainwater and solar energy harvesting are important and must be a part of proposal plan for the new buildings.
As reported, Javadekar also directed that these schools to “explore the possibility of having water harvesting facilities and biogas plants in existing campuses”, a statement from the ministry said.
India’s performance report in the area of renewable energy is not very promising upon which parliamentary standing committee said that government must take more proactive approach to arrange the finances for such projects and also encourage them.
Javadekar applauded the performance of NV’s students.
Javadekar applauded the students of the NVs for their outstanding performance in the board exams of class 10 and 12 and particularly in JEE Advanced and NEET exams of 2017.
Javadekar also directed the samiti to conduct a study on the positive impacts of the students and teachers living together on school campuses.
