They have been directed to identify communal sensitive places and to keep tight vigil on the criminal activities. While western MP has always been communal sensitive, but in last few years the eastern part of the state has also seen some incidents of communal tension. Even Bundelkhand and Mahakoshal regions have witnessed some communal tension in last few years. Jabalpur, Sahdol, Anooppur, Umaria Byohori have witnessed some incidents of communal disputes. Reports of communal fights have also been reported from Rahatgarh of Sagar district, Ajaygarh in Panna district, Tikamgarh and other places.
