According to the latest reports, among all the five Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs), Kolkata’s IISER is best in the country in terms of faculty and productivity.
Mr Panigrahi said that for the period of March, 2016 to February, 2017, Kolkata’s IISER was ranked the best in overall assessment.
He further said “IISER Kolkata students are attracting scholarships for pursuing PhD as well as carrying on post-doctoral research in top notch universities in the world. These include major national level research institutions, such as Oxford University, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, John Hopkins University, Ohio State University, Yale University, ETH Zurich”.
Dean of Student Affairs (DOSA) Arindam Kundagrami said “the premier institute embarked on a student outreach program to help poor children. The main aim of the program is to empower the children belonging to the underprivileged segment of society”.
