1. Use the Library
If your course examination is set by your lecturer, then this is for you.
Now lecturers have one of the most boring lives that I know. They repeat the same stuff, all year long, and for as long as they remain teaching the same unit. When a lecturer is starting their career, they invent all ways possible to test the students but with time, they get super rusty. They will use the same questions to test cohorts of students.
So your work in the library will be to go through the past examination papers for the particular unit. Identify the most repeated questions, and find out how they have been twisted. There is a 99% chance that your lecturer will test you with the same paper.
You didn’t cheat, right?
2. Keyword reading
This was one of the laziest yet most effective reading methods guys used while I enjoyed college days. The keyword reading method uses a concept of getting the most emphatic things in class. While the method can have serious consequences for short questions, you would best use this method for essay questions.
Formulate keywords that you can easily link to form a whole essay. The best way is to find primary keywords for the main process followed by connecting keywords to help link your mental essay.
An example:
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
In this sentence (assuming it’s your full essay) your primary keywords will be:
- Fox
- Dog
Then choose your connecting keywords
- Quick
- Lazy
Now having the two sets of keywords you will easily recall that your easy had a fox and a dog. You will then proceed to remember that your essay had the adjective quick and the adjective brown. After you have recalled this, be smart enough to remember that the fox was quick and the dog was lazy.
Move further on with your essay to remember that your Quick fox was brown in color and that it did jump over that lazy dog.
