New Delhi: Convicted of contempt of court and sentenced to 6 months in jail, Calcutta HC judge C.S. Karnan has filed a petition before President Pranab Mukherjee seeking suspension of his sentence.
Justice Karnan has gone into hiding ever since the apex court sentenced him on May 9 and has even moved the top court asking for a review of the verdictIn his petition filed before the President, Justice Karnan has alleged that he has been denied justice by “the highest court of the land”. The petition says: “The concept of justice is divine; it is his birth right and when justice is denied by highest court, the only authority which the petitioner could think of to seek justice from the President of India.”
