Ujjain: Ujjain Development Authority (UDA) will soon launch a new housing scheme in Hakkanipura and village Khilchipur at new Agar road.
A decision to this effect, was taken in a meeting of the board of directors, presided over by UDA chairman Jagdish Agrawal on Wednesday. Elaborating on the scheme, CEO Abhishek Dubey, said the board had granted permission for the development of housing colonies on 86.445 hectares of land in which around 5000 houses of different categories will be made. The new scheme is expected to provide housing solutions to 35, 000 residents of the city. UDA will now complete the project under the act 50 (1) and 50 (7) of urban and rural investment.
In other project, UDA will develop staff quarters and a hostel building shed for the Mahakal Temple Management Committee (MTMC) in village Chintaman Javasiay. In a significant decision, the maintenance period for the development work undertaken by UDA has been increased to 5 years. SDM, Kshitij Sharma, joint-director of town and country planning Sanjay Mishra, additional commissioner of Ujjain Municipal Corporation, Sanjay Mehta, superintending engineer of PHED, Deepak Ratnawat, and other officials were present at the meeting.
