Indore: Apart from studying hard, the medical aspirants are now struggling tough as well to get an opportunity to write their exams, thanks to the unnecessary delay by Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. Students of MBBS Third Professional Part-I in Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College have been facing same trouble as there exams are already delayed by as many as five months. A group of students have lodged a complaint with the university vice chancellor in a public hearing held on Tuesday and requested him to conduct the exam at the earliest.
“According to the pre-decided schedule, our course is already running five months late compared to the other colleges in the state. Any more delay in exams will decrease the tenure of final professional and also reduce the time of preparations for the PG entrance exams,” stated the complaint, signed by as many as 36 students. The aggrieved students also alleged that the officials in DAVV didn’t take their complaint seriously and said that they don’t have any technician to upload the results of detainee batch due to which they cannot issue schedule for the next exam. It is the last batch of MBBS in MGM Medical College, affiliated to DAVV, as the new batches are recognised by the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur.
“Final profession have utmost importance in the MBBS schedule as it has major part of clinical subjects and practical. Delay in exam will affect our future studies as well,” students said. Meanwhile, deputy registrar (exams) Prajwal Khare said “Yes, the exam has been delayed by one and half months, but we will conduct the exam by the end of this month or the first week of June. Late results of second year exams were the reason behind the delay.”
