Mumbai: Even as his father faces probe in 15 FEMA-related cases that are being probed in India, former IPL Chairman Lalit Modi’s son Ruchir Modi on Wednesday lashed out at the investigative agencies, dismissing all the charges against his father.
“All charges against my father are bull****, said Ruchir. “No Indian agency has been able to provide any evidence to prove the allegation so far. He has responded to every Indian agency and there is no proof to prove the charges.”
Ruchir, who is preparing to contest the presidential elections of Rajasthan Cricket Association as per the Lodha Committee recommendations, angrily rejected any possibility of his father returning to India to join the probe against him.
“The Indian agencies have not been able to provide any evidence and even Interpol also has shut down a case against him calling it a political drama of India, then why he just come to India to face the Banana Republic of Politics,” he said.
Lalit Modi, who is currently the president of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), is in London and facing alleged money laundering charges during his tenure as IPL chairman.
Last month, the INTERPOL had refused to issue a red corner notice against Modi, stating he shall not be held subject to a red notice or diffusion and “is not known in INTERPOL’s database.”
