Direct recruitment of college principals through PSC: Pawaiya

Principals will be appointed on vacant posts in the colleges through direct recruitment, said minister for higher education Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya.

The decision is being taken by the higher education department to fill the vacant posts of principal by direct recruitment through Public Service Commission, said the minister at a convention of newly elected office bearers of the Students Union at Gyan-Vigyan Bhawan of Barkatullah University on Tuesday.

A process to recruit assistant professors in the colleges has already been started, a total of 2,950 assistant professors will be posted in the colleges in next session after the selection, said the minister.  The minister also mentioned about the decisions like discontinuation of semester system and holding students union elections etc after so many years.

Pawaiya emphasised on the need for creating positive atmosphere and to prevent negative tendencies. Students and unions must play an important role to give creative contribution towards the society and the country, the minister said in his address. Stating that career is important, Pawaiya said that it is only a part of the life. He told the students to move forward with positive approach.

Gyan Vigyan Bhawan given free of cost’

National Student Union of India has accused Barkatullah University administration of giving Gyan Vigyan Bhawan free of cost for organising a function to Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad on Tuesday.

A meeting and interactive session of all the newly elected presidents, vice-presidents, general secretaries and other office bearers of Bhopal ABVP were organised at Gyan Vigyan Bhawan, which was attended by minister of higher education Jai Bhan Singh Pawaiya, registrar, vice-chancellor and others. NSUI spokesperson Vivek Tripathi accused the varsity administration of misusing government property.
