Amid speculations of a truce between the warring factions within the Yadav clan, newly re-elected Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav and his estranged uncle Shivpal Yadav held separate meetings with party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday.
Akhilesh drove down to his father’s government accommodation around noon and was closeted with him for about an hour. They were joined by former MLC Ram Naresh Yadav from Etawah. Ram Naresh is a Mulayam loyalist and was among the first ones to anno unce his support for Mulayam and Shivpal after the family feud came out in the open in 2016.
Almost an hour after Akhilesh left Mulayam’s house, Shivpal called on the SP patriarch and the two spent an hour together. Shivpal later described the meeting as a routine one.
