BJP chief Amit Shah will on Tuesday kick off his ‘jan raksha yatra’ from Payyannur in Kannur district, home town of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Shah’s rally — over two weeks long — will pass through the state of Kerala before culminating in Thiruvananthapuram on October 17. Senior party leaders and Union ministers are expected to participate in the march.
During his rally, Shah is likely to raise the alleged murders of RSS and BJP workers in the state allegedly by Left party workers. He is also likely to address several public rallies where he would highlight the achievements of the BJP government at the Centre. The BJP chief will begin with a visit to Raja Rajeshwar Temple in Thalipparamba. This is scheduled to take place at 9 am this morning.
Following his visit to Raja Rajeshwar Temple in Thalipparamba, Shah will inaugurate an exhibition at Town Square, Payyannur at around 10.30 am.
Following the inauguration, Shah will go on a padayatra from Town Square to Green Palace Hotel in Payyannur. The padayatra begins at 11 am and should end a little after noon.
Post lunch, Shah wil garland a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Payyanur. This will take place at Gandhi Park at around 3 pm. He will then leave on another padayatra from Gandhi Park to Ezhilode, after the garlanding ceremony.
The final leg of his padayatra will begin from Ezhilode and will conclude at Pilathara at around 5 pm.
Shah will then hold a public meeting at Pilathara where he will address BJP leaders and party workers as well as the general public. The public meeting is scheduled to begin at 5.30 pm
