Students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi found a dead rat in the breakfast served at a boys’ hostel in the campus. Following the incident, a committee has been formed by the institute to look into the matter.
On Tuesday morning, a student found a dead rat in the chutney served with the breakfast at the Aravali hostel.

Students complained to the hostel officials after which the matter was brought to the notice of the dean students’ affairs. “We received a complaint from the students of Aravali (hostel) on Tuesday. They had found a dead rat in the breakfast. We have formed a committee to look into the lapses that lead to this problem,” said TR Sreekrishnan, dean students’ affair.
IIT Delhi has 11 boys’ hostel and three girls’ hostel.
