When all are in celebration mood of Ganesh Chaturthi festivity, looks like Queen Bee wouldn’t be able to enjoy it. Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji has landed in legal trouble this Ganeshostav. Anytime soon the actress can expect Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) at her Juhu bungalow over alleged construction work being carried out illegally. Apparently the actress was granted commencement certificate (CC) for the same to her KrishnaRam bungalow in Juhu in the year 2014. As per BMC records available on AutoDCR website the validity of it was until November 2015. But some of the activists have alleged that the height of the bungalow was increased after the expiry date of the CC.

“The CC was taken from BMC in 2014 and expired in 2015, but construction work is still going on. No re-validation process has taken place,” Nikitesh Chaubal, activist and chairman of Aamhi Jagrut Mumbaikar told Mid-Day. But Rani Mukerji’s spokesperson says that the CC has been revalidated every year and the bungalow’s height is as per the approved plans.

A civic official told Mid-Day, “The K-west ward office got complaints from activists regarding alleged construction work being carried out illegally, in violation of the approved plans that were submitted to BMC’s Building Proposal Department. On receiving the complaint, we issued a notice to the owner and paid a visit but were not allowed to inspect the premises.” Confirming the news Prashant Gaikwad, the assistant civic commissioner of K-west ward told the tabloid, “We issued a notice a week ago, under section 488 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, which allows BMC to enter a building or land for inspection.”

BMC had paid a visit to the actress’ house recently but they were turned away. And now they plan to make another visit on August 30 to Rani Mukerji’s bungalow but along with police officials.
